The goal of the Postsecondary and Workforce Linkages Ad Hoc Committee is to review and make recommendations to DOE on standards for Adult General Education programs, i.e., Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED), Adult High School (AHS), Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

The committee is working on the following tasks:

Evaluate & recommend action on AE Standards

ABE: Evaluate & recommend action on benchmarks of selected levels

AHS: Evaluate & recommend action on all AHS benchmarks with special focus on benchmarks that prepare students for FCAT

ESOL: Evaluate & recommend action on Literacy Skills for Adult ESOL Learners benchmarks

Pre-GED and GED Preparatory: Evaluate & recommend action on selected benchmarks, with specific focus on GED essay preparation

Pre-VPI and VPI: Evaluate & recommend action on selected benchmarks, with special focus on benchmarks that prepare students for college placement tests.
