What's a VARK?
VARK is the acronym associated with
a learning styles inventory that was developed by Neil Fleming of
Lincoln University in Canterbury, New Zealand. VARK stands for the
four different modes that teachers typically use to present information
to students - Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic. When teachers
present information using multiple modalities, students learn better.
There is a better match between teaching and learning styles.
A Case In Point #1
It's your son's or daughter's birthday
and you have purchased a new bicycle. There is a problem though;
you have to put the bicycle together. "Some assembly required"
is a phrase that strikes fear in your heart.
Which of the following would be the
best way for you to put together the bicycle? Which would you prefer?
