Getting Started

Let's begin by making our resource folder. Throughout this training you will be reading articles and completing activities. We thought it would be a great idea for you to keep a resource folder of items that you can use in your classroom (this also helps our tactile learners keep focused.) Find a manila folder and label it "ABE Web-Based Training." Every time you access a website or another file that contains assessments, strategies or other valuable information, just print the page and place it in your resource folder.

Notice the button on the left hand side of the page labeled "My Checklist." Click on that button and a checklist will appear of all the activities that you will need to complete. Print the checklist and place it in your folder. Now you have a way of tracking which activities you've completed and which ones you haven't.

We've also included a button for "Orientation." If you're new to navigating the Internet you may want to take a few minutes and go through the orientation.
