While
your adult students may not have had the help they needed drawing on their
strengths and bypassing their areas of weaknesses, they can help the children
in their lives in several ways. They can assist in providing them with safe
and secure environments, stimulations for neuronal growth, and reading every
day. Adults can also be vigilant in watching for signs of learning problems,
and seeking early intervention so that the children they love do not fall
far behind.
In the last module, you will look at some of the plentiful resources available on the Web for helping adults help children improve reading skills. The actual documents with this information can be downloaded for adult education classrooms so that parents can be improving their own reading skills even as they learn to help their children.
