Time for an LD Check
LD Myths and Misconceptions

Mythology is a part of all cultures. Myths are those stories or ideas that are handed down to explain something. The handing down of myths did not stop with modern times. In fact, if you have spent time working with adults with disabilities or if you have a friend or family member with a learning disability, you have probably heard many myths or misconceptions.

Read the statements on the following page and indicate whether they are myth or fact by clicking on the correct icon. A short response will appear to tell you whether you correctly chose between the misconception or the truth.

This program was developed by Dr. Rochelle Kenyon, Project Director, Florida Bridges to Practice, through an Adult Education State Leadership Grant from the Florida Department of Education, Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Education.
