Review the table below to identify
the purpose of the following buttons. Although there are other
buttons listed on your menu bar, these buttons will be used most
often during this inservice component.
 |
Use the "back" button
to go back to the most recent page that you have viewed.
You can continue to click the button for as many times as you
wish to go back. |
 |
Use the "forward"
button to go forward a page. This can only be used if
you have gone back a few pages and need to get back to where
you were. |
 |
Clicking on the "reload"
button will refresh your page. Why? Your computer has
a built in function that saves the graphics and text of a website
in memory. That way, when you access the Internet and
bring up that page, it will not take as long to load the graphics.
Some webpages change more often than you think.
Clicking on the "reload" button tells your computer to show
the most updated version of the page.
Make sense? |
 |
The "print" button
can be used in place of the print function located under the
"file" pull-down menu. This is just another option. |
 |
Clicking on the "search"
button will take you to the Netscape or Microsoft (or AOL, etc.)
search screen. This is where you conduct a search on the
Internet. |
Why not take a few minutes and
practice using these buttons?
That's our brief tour of the browsers that you will be working
with. Now, let's continue with the training.
