Defining an Instructional Strategy

How do you determine which strategies are effective and efficient? First, let's define an instructional strategy. Instructional strategies are teaching techniques that are used to help individuals gain understanding or develop skills. Strategy

Strategies usually have a name, a series of steps to follow, can be used in a variety of content areas, and have a variety of applications. An example would be a basic strategy for how to write a paragraph. There are lots of ways to teach paragraph writing - some better than others. How do you know which is the best strategy to use? Well, there are some criteria that you can use to evaluate the teaching strategies that you select.
