Let's begin.

When you access the Internet through your Internet provider (AOL, BellSouth, Mindspring, Cybergate, etc.) you will view the Internet using software called a "browser."  In most cases, the browser will be called Netscape or Internet Explorer .  You can determine which browser you have by the symbols next to their names.

Internet providers such as AOL use their own browsers, however the concept is the same.

When you sign on to the Internet a page will be displayed that looks something like this:

This browser is Netscape.  This is the menu bar.


This browser is Internet Explorer.  This is the menu bar.

Check to see what browser you have.
