Tests, Tests, Tests!

Educators today are generally asking two basic questions:

  1. How well are students learning?
  2. How effectively are teachers teaching?
To raise educational achievement, we often require more rigorous testing.   Assessment, however, is only one of three elements that must be present for students to raise achievement levels.  Increased student performance can be expected only if:
  • higher standards are established;
  • instruction is appropriate; and
  • students are assessed on their progress.
