Web-Based Training for GED Administrators

Florida's GED administrators are faced with many challenges:

  • Increased accountability
  • Increased performance standards
  • Increased demand for the program

In addition to these challenges, Florida's GED administrators must prepare for the instructional changes required to meet the standards of the GED 2002 Series Tests.

This web-based training program has been designed to provide the GED administrator with some tools and techniques to address the challenges ahead. This self-paced program has been designed as a five-hour inservice component with part of the training utilizing resources on the Internet and the remainder completed through activities related to your GED program.

Strategies for Success consists of three components:

  1. Using the GED Administrators' Manual
  2. Understanding the Changes in the GED 2002 Series Tests
  3. Increasing Program Effectiveness

Each participant will:

  • Use the World Wide Web as a resource
  • Review the GED Administrators' Manual
  • Design a "Smart Classroom"
  • Identify methods for improving program performance
  • Share information with other adult educators

At the upper right of this page, you will see the "Jump to . . . " box with a pull-down menu. Use that menu now to jump to and read Receiving Your Inservice Points and then jump to the Pretest. (Your score will not count towards your final grade.) When you have finished the Pretest, jump to Manual Required.
