* The More Things Change, The More They Remain The Same!

There has been a lot of talk and concern about the changes that are coming in January 2002.   But there are some things about the GED Tests that will remain the same.

  • The GED Tests will continue to provide adults with an alternate method to earn a high school diploma and will measure those lasting skills/concepts normally learned in four years of high school.
  • Committees consisting of professional educators and test specialists in each subject area will develop the test:  Language Arts (Writing and Reading), Social Studies, Science and Mathematics.
  • The GED 2002 Tests will be administered to graduating high school seniors to establish the norm or passing standard.
  • The GED Testing Service will establish a minimum score requirement for passing the tests.
  • Individual states will be allowed to set a higher passing standard than that set by the GED Testing Service.
