Welcome to GED 2002 Making New Connections

It is important that teachers and administrators have information on the GED Tests in order to provide quality programs. This training focuses on the GED student, the instructor, the classroom setting, teaching strategies, and information on the GED Tests.

Video clips have been added to each of the connections to enhance the learning process. Thanks to Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce, Florida and the GED students attending classes there for their assistance in filming the video clips for these modules.

To learn more about this project, view the following video clip. This video clip welcomes you to Making New Connections. One word of caution - Viewing video clips requires that you have either a DSL or Cable modem, or higher speed connection.

This production of GED 2002 - Making New Connections is divided into five (5) different scenes. Each scene has been designed as a 5-hour inservice component with part of your work completed on the Web and the remainder in your classroom or school. This is a self-paced production. You may wish to complete some or all of the scenes, depending on your own personal needs.

The five scenes in this inservice production are:

  • The First Connection:  The GED Student
  • The Second Connection:  The GED Tests
  • The Third Connection:  The GED Program
  • The Fourth Connection:  Effective Teaching Strategies
  • The Fifth Connection:  Technology in the Classroom
Making new connections with your students, your fellow instructors, and with effective teaching techniques and strategies is absolutely essential for success in a GED program and ultimately for your students' success on the GED Tests.
