Welcome to Get Your Message Out! This web-based training will provide you with the basic skills needed to promote your adult and community education program. Why do you need to know about marketing and promotion? Marketing skills are an essential part of every professional's job description. You represent your educational institution every day, regardless of whether you are at work or at home in your community. Everything that you say, do, or write can impact the image of your center - either positively or negatively.

Each person at your center is a customer service representative, no matter what the person's job description says. This means that everyone needs to be an integral part of the "sales, service, and public relations" team, because everyone makes a difference.

So, how do you learn the skills required to be a more effective public relations asset for your center? To "Get the Message Out!" one just needs to know the basics.

This web-based training, Get Your Message Out!, will assist you in obtaining skills about:

  • Basic tools and techniques of public relations/marketing
  • Being on the air - broadcast opportunities
  • Student and volunteer recruitment procedures
