| NCTM and the GED 2002 Mathematics is part of our daily world. Yet, for adult students it is also one of the most difficult subjects with which to connect. The NCTM Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics recommends that all math programs "include numerous and varied experiences with problem solving as a method of inquiry and application. The GED 2002 Test Series is strongly influenced by the NCTM Standards. What are the NCTM Standards? NCTM, The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, is the primary professional organization in the United States for teachers of mathematics. The organization has been in operation for 75 years and provides a wealth of information in the areas of research, education and leadership.
