SCANS Competencies
Developed by the Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills, the SCANS Report produced a definitive study that outlined eight areas of emphasis needed to pro-duce qualified, productive workers for the 21st century.

Benchmark
The benchmark is the most specific level of information. A benchmark identifies the learner expectations-what a student should be able to do at the end of a developmental level.

This program was developed by the State of Florida Adult Secondary/GED/VPI Committee of the Practitioners' Task Force, through an Adult Education State Leadership Grant from the Florida Department of Education, Division of Workforce Development.
