  PURPOSE

The purpose of this training module is to provide an understanding how to integrate Vocational Preparatory Instruction (VPI) and Career/Technical Instruction, and to offer practical strategies for implementation. Beyond being mandated by the Perkins Act Amendments, integration of VPI and Career/Technical Instruction will not only enhance your ability to teach your students in an effective way that is most meaningful to them, but will also result in a more useful curriculum, a teaching network, and stronger relationships with businesses in your community.



OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this training module are to:
  • Provide an overview of what "integration" is, its benefits, and how it relates to Federal mandates.
  • Discuss integration goals of the VPI Instructor
  • Teach strategies for successfully implementing Integrated Instruction
  • Present practical resources for action
