Tactile/Kinesthetic Learners Learn Through Moving, Doing and TouchingTactile/Kinesthetic persons learn best through a hands-on approach. They may find it hard to sit still for long periods and may become distracted by their need for activity and exploration. Tactile/kinesthetic learners learn through touching, moving and doing. Their muscle memory storage is long term. In school, they have difficulty paying attention for long periods of time and get distracted due to the need to explore, move and be physically active. Tactile/kinesthetic learners may require frequent breaks to move their bodies. They often have high energy levels and think best when they are moving. The kinesthetic learner becomes easily bored when faced with a long lecture or periods of interactivity. They have problems concentrating on reading material because the kinesthetic learner wants to participate, rather than watch or listen. They prefer to be active when learning and will take notes when listening to a lecture. They are also the "doodlers" who need to keep their hands busy when listening. They enjoy working on projects, participating in demonstrations or working in labs.
