  Stressing the idea of continuous learning and re-skilling in order to keep pace with the future of job market.
LEP students often remain in unskilled or low skilled positions. Improving language skills, technical skills and acquiring new skills continues over a lifetime.
What you can do: provide data on future hot jobs and ask students to predict what skills will be required; use computer technology to provide greater instructional flexibility; provide skills using the internet to locate information electronically; include visual and text materials that demonstrate diversity in a variety of places of employment.

Creating the real world integration of listening, speaking, reading and writing English.
Students will use and apply the vocabulary and language of the workplace when it is presented in context.
What you can do: use cooperative learning structures to read about the importance of time in the American work ethic, discuss, listen to each other, summarize key points in writing and make a group presentation.
