Getting a Job Think for a moment about the many times that students have come up to you and said, "Well, I guess I am going to have to find a new job." You probably thought "oh no, not again." Unfortunately, there are many adults who just can't seem to get or keep a job. They drift aimlessly from one job to another - never quite happy with the job they have - always looking for something better. So, what can you do to change all that? Hopefully, the information you have learned so far provided you with core knowledge that you can use to help students understand themselves better. If they understand who they are, their likes and dislikes and the type of employment that really interests them - they have a chance at finding a career, not just another job. In this module, you will focus on strategies that students need to find a job. Let's start by taking a look at what is needed for a student to conduct a successful Job Search. |
