Welcome to Preparing Adults for the Workplace through the VPI (Vocational Preparatory Instruction) program.  This web-based training component has been designed to provide you with some basic information about your students and Workplace Readiness.  It is not enough that you provide students with the basic academic skills they will need, but you must also work with students to make sure they are prepared for real-life in the workplace.  In this component, you will learn about strategies and activities that you can use with your students as they hone their workplace readiness skills.  This web-based training component consists of three modules:

  • Making Smart Career Choices

  •
  • Getting a Job

  •
  • Keeping a Job
Before you get started, please complete an orientation session. The orientation session will introduce you to the different icons and symbols that you will encounter throughout this web-based training. This training will use special icons to help you connect your learning to real-life activities.  These helpful icons will guide you through this web-based experience.  A key for the icons is always located in the left hand column of each page.  Click below to begin the orientation.
