Now that we have talked a little about security and you have read the information from the Florida GED Administrators’ Manual, let’s take a look at one program and how they operate the test.  Dr. Lyndarae Martin is the Chief Examiner at St. Johns River Community College.  She has developed extensive procedures and materials that ensure her GED Testing program is operating effectively, efficiently and with a high standard for security and customer service.  The procedures developed at SJRCC can easily meet the needs of both large and small programs.

St. Johns River Community College serves a rural community that includes a large portion of the Ocala National Forest. Approximately 2,000 students are served through GED instructional programs in the area, including the college, school district and community organizations.  Last year, St. Johns River Community College administered the GED Tests to approximately 480 people. St Johns River Community College faces many unique challenges to serve the residents in their area.  In the past five years, SJRCC has won two state awards for Workforce Preparation.  They provide a multi-modal curriculum that is self-paced and competency-based with multi-level classrooms.  They focus on quality instruction to assist adults throughout their area.
