* Conducting an Internal Audit of Program Performance Data

Unless you are new to adult education, you have probably participated in a program audit.  This may have been an FTE (Full-Time Equivalency) audit prior to the implementation of Workforce Development Education Funding (WDEF) or it may have been a Performance and Compliance Audit conducted by the Florida Department of Education.  In either case, you spent a lot of time and energy preparing for these audits by pulling together documents, checking data, etc.

The best time to do all of this work is before the call comes from either the Auditor General’s office or the Division of Workforce Development.  All adult education programs will undergo an audit.  The smart administrator starts preparing for that inevitable audit now, long before the auditor is scheduled to show up on his/her doorstep.

This program was developed by the State of Florida Adult Secondary/GED/VPI Committee of the Practitioners' Task Force through an Adult Education State Leadership Grant from the Florida Department of Education, Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Education.
