* Conducting the Mini-Audit

Go through the rosters and randomly select students.  (You may wish to select every 5th or 7th student, depending on the size of your program.)  Highlight the students’ names, class number and any other pertinent information that you will need based on your data system.  The next step will be the most difficult.  For every student that you have selected, pull:

  • The registration form
  • The initial assessment data
  • The final assessment data (If you use competency checklists and do not administer final assessments using a standardized test, pull the checklists and all supporting documentation for that student.)  Please note:  the awarding of LCPs for the GED program is contingent on the student passing all or part of the Official GED Tests.  As you conduct the mini-audit you may be able to pull information on the GED Practice Test for this item.  This will provide you with information about those students for whom you may expect to find positive GED Test results.
  • GED Test results (if you maintain those results through your local GED Test Center)
  • A listing of all students who earned LCPs (Literacy Completion Points)
  • Teacher certification records
