* How did you do?  A little worried now?  Actually, you should be concerned.  You are now operating in a performance-based environment.  The rules have changed and you have to change with them.  The most important issue, however, continues to be whether our programs are serving our students appropriately so that they have the greatest possibility for success.

How to Use Program Data to Determine Student Achievement Levels

The bottom line is student achievement.  What do you need to do to determine how well students are performing in your program?  First, you will need to gather some documents.  This may take a little while, but it will be time well spent.
If you have multiple classes, you will need to gather information about each one of them.  You are going to be tracking performance over a period of time, so don’t expect to spend a mere 5 minutes in this part of the component.  You will need the following documents:

  • Class rosters for the past year
  • List of students who earned LCPs during the past year
  • List of students who withdrew from the program prior to completion
  • List of students who are still enrolled in the program without having made progress as documented by LCPs
  • Getting Started | Accountability | Student Achievement |Teacher Performance  | Internal Audit | Orientation

This program was developed by the State of Florida Adult Secondary/GED/VPI Committee of the Practitioners' Task Force through an Adult Education State Leadership Grant from the Florida Department of Education, Division of Community Colleges and Workforce Education.
