ABE Florida

ABE Florida is a comprehensive adult basic education program designed to provide practitioners in Florida with all the necessary components to be successful in a performance-based funding environment. ABE Florida includes state of Florida Department of Education approved frameworks, training guide and video, resources, assessment, a mailing list and Web site.

Focus on Basics

Focus on Basics is the quarterly publication of the National Center for the Study of Adult Learning and Literacy. It presents best practices, current research on adult learning and literacy, and how research is used by adult basic education teachers, counselors, program administrators, and policy makers. Focus on Basics is dedicated to connecting research with practice, to connecting teachers with research and researchers with the reality of the classroom, and by doing so, making adult basic education research more relevant to the field.

We will set the themes for future issues, identify writers, and staff our Editorial Boards with your help. We are trying to form partnerships with the state ABE systems to create the most useful newsletter we can. FOB will be available through subscription for $8.00 for 4 issues.  If you would like to subscribe for more than one year, the rate remains constant. Thus, a two year subscription costs $16.00, a three year subscription costs $24.00, etc. Each issue of FOB can also be downloaded from this web site.
