The three major sections of personnel in nonprofits are usually governance (the board of directors), central administration or general operations (executive director, central offices, etc.) and programs. Nonprofit organizations usually manage their products and services (to clients) in the form of internal programs. Program services to clients are the primary reason that the nonprofit exists. Therefore, it's critical to know how to plan and market programs.
