Resource Abstract: The Families As Educators PACT Curriculum is organized into ten separate units with hands-on learning centers and additional activities to do at home. Each unit is organized around a theme and contains six or more activities. The activities are designed to promote active engagement of parents and children. Some of the activities work well as early-bird activities for families that arrive early. Since the children who accompanied parents to the PACT workshops ranged in age from infancy to teenage, many flexible learning experiences are provided.

On an annual basis, approximately 30% of Florida’s GED candidates fail to meet the minimum standards required to earn a State of Florida High School Diploma. The Florida GED Research Project, an adult education state leadership activity conducted by Central Florida Community College, was designed to review the data and identify strategies and resources that teachers, support staff, and administrators could use to better assist their students in passing the GED Tests.
