A Web-based
initiative that works to recruit and train volunteers to support
literacy programs. Verizon Literacy Campus currently offers
26 free online courses on a variety of topics that address
the needs of potential and existing literacy volunteers, as
well as literacy program directors and staff.
This
site offers a wealth of information to Encourage prospective
volunteers to find a program and volunteer, help prepare new
literacy volunteers to work with learners and enable literacy
program managers to offer training for volunteers and paid
staff at no cost.

TeacherLine

PBS TeacherLine, funded by a grant from the Department of
Education, provides teachers with online professional development
in mathematics and technology integration. In collaboration
with the International Society for Technology in Education
(ISTE) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
(NCTM) and leading educational producers, TeacherLine has
developed online facilitated modules and self-paced learning
opportunities that teachers can access anytime, anywhere.
